New products arrive at Colmore every week. That rhythm looks effortless from the outside, but each piece has been on a long road before it lands on the floor of our Cash & Carry or in your webshop order. This is how a collection comes together.
It starts with a mood board
About a year ahead of a season, our purchasing and styling team pins down the direction: colours, materials, silhouettes. The board is deliberately small. A collection with a clear thread is easier to sell than one with something for everyone.
Sampling and selection
From the board we go to samples. Cabinets, tables, lamps and objects arrive from our suppliers and are assessed on three things: does it fit the story, does it hold up to daily use, and can we keep it in stock at a price that works for a dealer. Roughly half of the samples make it.
Styling in our own showroom
Before a product is photographed, it is styled in our showroom in Venlo. That is where we learn how a cabinet on wheels really behaves next to a marble coffee table, and which painting makes a dark wall come alive. The photos you see on the product pages are taken in those settings.
Every week something new
Once a product is in the warehouse, it goes live in the webshop with stock numbers you can rely on. New arrivals are grouped in the New collection, so a weekly look at that page is the easiest way to keep your own range fresh.
